00:08:08.820 Do you know what I mean? And so I find them really emotional to read. And I love hearing Amy's

00:08:19.540 writing to ourselves audrey lords is mythologized black lesbian warrior poet feminist essayist and

00:08:35.400 biomythography she invites us to craft our mythic lives in her 1980 essay age race class and sex

00:08:43.720 audrey writes as a 49 year old black lesbian feminist socialist mother of two including one

00:08:48.960 boy and a member of an interracial couple, I usually find myself a part of some group defined

00:08:55.040 as other, deviant, inferior, or just plain wrong. In her poem Equinox, she writes, we must be very

00:09:01.980 strong and love each other in order to go on living. Audre Lorde summons you to the fertile

00:09:08.860 meeting places of our otherness. Be very strong, love each other, make your life mythic.

00:09:18.960 and the word is mythologize this feels so important now we have to write new myths
