00:05:03.940When I was sleeping, I was having flashback nightmares every single night of my life.
00:05:11.520and the doctor I was on at the time gave me just so just so much benzos and you know again I'm not
00:05:21.680like I'm not against western medicine I'm not against using benzodiazepines you know as needed
00:05:27.260for a panic attack but I was on too much in retrospect and it was just adjusted to me like
00:05:35.580what if you tried uh cannabis and you know instead of like being on this much like Klonopin
00:05:43.200a day and you know at first I was like well I've had a problem with alcohol so maybe that's like
00:05:49.120not a good idea and then the doctor was like well to be honest with you like that would be this is
00:05:54.560a lot safer option like long term than to like have you on like 12 milligrams of Klonopin a day
00:06:01.880or something insane so I weaned myself off of that and tried cannabis and it it just it just
00:06:10.860worked so well it just worked so well for me it um you know it didn't fix all my problems I I used
00:06:17.680it in conjunction you know with with therapy and um but it made the nightmares go away THC is known
00:06:26.620to um suppress dreams which for some people can be a bad thing but for me what was a really really
00:06:32.440good thing and because a lot of my trauma was sexual in nature um my sex life was pretty messed
00:06:39.800up you know this is like 10 years ago um and it and now now i don't even like think about drinking
00:06:47.940you know it's just it's not a big deal at all and now i like use cannabis socially but you know
00:06:55.060nothing, nothing bad happened. I didn't relapse and start drinking again. And I was able to
00:07:02.620wean myself off the benzodiazepines. And so I think I would have to say that even though I
00:07:08.040had a positive viewpoint of cannabis from a child, it probably wasn't until 2013, 14,
00:07:16.820when I started using it medicinally, that was like, oh, wow, like this is, this is really for
00:07:22.180me because previously when i had always used it i had also been drinking and that um and cross
00:07:28.740fading just you know i know some people who do it but it was like not it did not work for me
00:07:32.900um and over the past 10 years you know i'm also a psychedelic and drug reporter it's become a huge
00:07:42.120part of my professional life is my third book on cannabis weed which comes out on april 4th
00:07:50.6202023, which is coming up. And now, thankfully, I'm in a really different place than I was 10
00:07:57.660years ago, in regards to depression and anxiety, you know, there's still these, anyone who
00:08:03.520experiences those type of mental health issues knows that they're kind of like demons that are
00:08:10.020always in the background, and you're always have to keep an eye on them, you know, and keep doing
00:08:14.800the work but i i i thankfully i think did a really good job of working through my trauma and i
00:08:23.580no longer have the same issues that first led it to me from a medical point of view
00:08:29.320but i still micros for anxiety before a social event i still take a normal dose for in lieu of
00:08:37.820drinking and i am have told you like so much to answer your question that maybe i'll just stop
00:08:44.040there and let you jump in and ask me anything. No, we love an expansive answer. That's our
00:08:50.180favorite kind of answer around here. We want to see where those fractals of train tracks lead,
00:08:55.820you know? Yeah, absolutely. So you mentioned in the book that you have like a medical
00:09:02.200prescription because of PTSD that in New York, you can get a medical prescription for heroin.
00:09:09.840now i do i started using it medically um you know with my shrinks knowledge before it was like
00:09:16.580officially you could get a medical card um but when i could get a medical card i went ahead and
00:09:22.440did it just so i could go to the medical dispensaries and now it's like you know legal if
00:09:27.220anyone in new york city knows there's you know they're still unlicensed and um as a result you
00:09:32.640know we god getting into licensing is a whole other thing the but this gray area anyways now
00:09:38.480you can i walk halfway down the block and there's three different dispensaries that like carry all
00:09:42.960my favorite products so it being accessible is not an issue but for a while it was just um
00:09:50.020preferable for me to go to a medical dispensary and have it you know nice and dosed and everything
00:09:56.880yeah because you know i'm a i'm a black market betty you know i i always i'm a black yeah well
00:10:03.760Well, I don't blame you. I will be too when they start making, like when all these like dispensaries that are right now in the gray area have to go through the licensing processes, the costs are going to soar. And I'll be back to my black market guy.
00:10:20.540I've actually, to be honest with you, my medical marijuana card has expired and I haven't bothered renewing it just because in the years since I got that, I started buying black market just purely because it was cheaper.
00:10:35.920And I actually don't fully agree with like how binary medical use versus recreational use is presented.
00:10:52.200You know, I like, it's like, do I still have like a rape nightmare every night?
00:10:59.700Do I have to stop using cannabis because I don't know?
00:11:04.960like do you need to have been gone through some serious trauma to enjoy the benefits of cannabis
00:11:11.540no you know if I um like wanted to you know act like super by the books I'd be like oh I'm taking
00:11:20.800like this weed because I have a social like anxiety diagnosis before a party but I I also0.85
00:11:27.220think that's like like no shade to anyone who like says that but like kind of bullshit like
00:11:31.680I'm taking it so it makes me feel good and it makes me have fun and then and um and I think0.85
00:11:37.160one of the really really beautiful things about cannabis is that it can't it can treat so many
00:11:42.840things but also you know just be a fun social lubricant and I don't think there's anything
00:11:48.040wrong with wanting to feel high that's kind of where me and um a lot of like very traditional
00:11:56.480recovery thing where we have to split because I do not think there's anything morally wrong with
00:12:03.100wanting to feel good and wanting to use substances. I think if it's harming you and if it's harming
00:12:09.560other people, then yeah, you should check in with yourself and adjust your substance use. And I think
00:12:15.560anyone, you know, whether it's wine or weed or, you know, your favorite poison, as they say,
00:12:22.480not that cannabis is a poison we have a whole system in our bodies created just to like adapt
00:12:28.500to these phytocannabinoids and feel them but you know i think it's obviously important to make sure
00:12:34.300it's not hurting your life but you know if someone's like it it's used to be like branded
00:12:40.720sinful to want to just use cannabis because it makes you feel high um and i disagree with that
00:12:48.360I think we have every right to responsibly feel high and make the most of these bodies that whatever made us, made us, gave us.
00:13:01.060I think that we can translate that perspective onto our witchcraft too, right?
00:13:06.560Like I use my witchcraft to process my trauma, to feel empowered, but also because I want to get high on magic.
00:13:14.340Can you talk about your integration of, you know, PTSD, witchcraft, weed, but specifically witchcraft?
00:13:23.320Yeah, witchcraft, like, it's so funny because, you know, I realized my, again, my, I had a very, very laid back progressive upbringing.
00:13:36.820I was not raised in any religion or any church and um I always you know was found it really0.91
00:13:46.260really interesting um another cool thing about being from the Caribbean is that I um well known
00:13:54.060in my family practice I you know there was a like talked about voodoo and then all that stuff
00:13:59.980happened like all the time you know you would hear about someone getting sent hot food powder
00:14:04.180which is the powder that you step on it's supposed to make you leave the island like all the time
00:14:08.560um you know even like my school had like this sounds so weird but just openly they were like
00:14:16.160hey kids you can't go past this um line we drew around the perimeter of like this rocky0.97
00:14:22.640mountainscape the school is built into because the red eyes are going to get you if you do there's0.81
00:14:28.060then those are these demons called red eyes and we're just like oh yeah well we don't want the
00:14:32.060red-eyed demons to get us so we'll stay within this cool perimeter um so i think i was kind of
00:14:37.460um you know like with the lack of um you know christianity and um already having been exposed
00:14:46.080to these type of thoughts when i moved to new york in the east village i went to this witchcraft
00:14:51.820store called enchantments and um also quickly became really really close friends with some
00:14:57.720professional astrologers and just found myself really drawn to it. Um, but I, I, I forget that
00:15:07.240like, which is a big deal. Um, for instance, my partner, um, he himself does not share these,
00:15:13.680these values, but he comes from a conservative evangelical family. And like when his family
00:15:20.380first found out about me, it was like, you're dating a witch. And I'm like, it's just, it's
00:15:26.580just fun it's just astrology it's just making candles and rituals and pulling tarot cards like
00:15:33.620i wish i was as scary and badass as you think that i am but um i am not i i when it comes to
00:15:43.000like god and spirituality i always like quote the great fox molder and just say like i want to
00:15:48.200believe you know i want to believe i i find um a lot of power in ritual you know like for instance
00:15:56.160right now money is tough you know money is tough for me as a writer which is a very difficult
00:16:02.900profession but we're seeing these banks holding and it's like actually kind of comforting um you
00:16:09.080know sorry anyone rich listening to know that even like the rich are like like worried about
00:16:14.860all their money going away but so you know like I have plans with a good friend um we're gonna do
00:16:20.540a ritual and I'm going to use a green candle to make, um, a money spell. And I don't want to
00:16:27.560sound like a bad witch, but do I believe that by making this money spell that just boom, like all
00:16:34.020my worries are going to be solved? No, but I do think that in, um, going through the ritual of
00:16:40.600performing a spell can kind of help you like get focused on what you need to do. Um, it can
00:16:48.800be comforting and you know what maybe like there are spiritual guides or ancestors or um
00:16:55.920you know david bowie's listening or the cat spirits can hear me and maybe that you know
00:17:01.660it can't hurt like it just can't hurt um and in particular i'm i'm really drawn to tarot i love
00:17:09.000tarot reading tarot so much so i guess my roundabout answer to your question about cannabis
00:17:14.560This is that in Weed Witch, I do offer a lot of spells that are directly about cannabis.
00:17:21.200Like, for instance, like different herbs and their properties and like, you know, different herbal splits you can make for different purposes.
00:17:28.260But most of my witchcraft is just like being stoned and reading tarot.
00:17:34.100And, you know, cannabis has all these proven properties, like, for instance, divergent thinking, which is a critical component of creativity.
00:17:45.480And basically, it means it helps your brain make connections that might not be obvious.
00:17:51.740So I find that for me, if I look at a tarot spread, when I'm high, just I'll notice connections and different possibilities and meanings that maybe would be less accessible to me if I didn't have that elevated state of mind.
00:18:08.220And I'm using tarot as an example because, like I said, I love astrology, I love sex magic, I love candle magic, I love all of these different types of rituals.
00:18:18.440But tarot is probably what I'm best at, I would say.
00:18:22.800But yeah, most of my Weed Witch work is just, you know, having my vape or like edibles in my system with me as I do these rituals.
00:18:34.760and I don't know if it's the right choice for for everyone for some people it might make it
00:18:40.460like harder to read tarot but um for me it's it's I think it just really comes back to like
00:18:48.060this the mind expanding properties and um also the inhibition lowering properties like it
00:18:55.540can be a lot easier just to have fun and and loosen up and not take yourself so
00:19:00.480seriously when you're a little bit stoned I'm wondering if that loosening is part of I mean
00:19:07.440I want to say like you've published five books which really like flies in the face of the lazy0.99
00:19:14.640stoner idea I know I love that I love that so much just to like tell people to fuck off if they0.97
00:19:24.220you have any questions about that so I know like a lot of our listeners and a lot of our coven0.96
00:19:30.560mates like they they feel like they have a book in them but there there's a blockage somewhere I
00:19:36.640mean you are not a crone and yet you've already published five books so can you talk about like
00:19:44.840how you how you broke the seal and and became this like prolific spout yeah I mean like my most
00:19:56.320boring and blunt answer is that like I need the money um you know I um unfortunately do not have
00:20:06.420a trust fund and I have made the ridiculous decision to try to make being a writer and an
00:20:13.580author my full-time job um in addition to the books i'm also a lore magazines astrologer
00:20:20.420i have a select column with ask men i do corporate writing for cannabis companies um when i need to
00:20:27.840i i do a lot of things but you you know it's it's just hard to make a living as an author so
00:20:36.740sometimes people ask me this and and you know and a lot of authors have a day job and have
00:20:42.500less pressure on them but it's it's just what I do and I love it so much and breaking the seal
00:20:49.100I'll be honest it was not easy and it was not what I expected I have an agent that I got after
00:20:57.360literally years of like chasing down trying to find an agent and then finally I connected with
00:21:02.700someone and we originally connected about a memoir of mine that I still haven't sold and I'm actually
00:21:10.840glad I mean we pulled it like it was like up for auction years ago and then we took it off because
00:21:17.740what anyways let me kind of retell this story like you know I when I thought I was becoming
00:21:25.920an author I guess I imagined what would happen it would be like what only happens to Prince Harry
00:21:32.600like I just have this memoir and I'm like hey here's my amazing memoir millions of people are0.99
00:21:38.360gonna buy it and I'm gonna be a famous rich author but that's it's just a fucking industry0.93
00:21:45.180like like anything else um at least for me it has been you know I I have some friends who have had0.96
00:21:53.340six you know gotten a six-figure advance on their first book and it's gone on to be a New York Times
00:22:00.060bestseller but that just was not my experience I um used to have a podcast with my best friend
00:22:07.540Annabelle Gatt called The Serpent Cast and we were sent this book um I won't say the name of it
00:22:13.520because I don't want to diss anyone but it was about witchcraft and um the publisher asked me to
00:22:20.940what I thought about the book and to be blunt I was like really disappointed in the book um I
00:22:27.940it was about relationships in particular and um I found you know um I'm very high femme but
00:22:37.280I'm bisexual and queer and I didn't feel like seen or represented in this book at all and um one
00:22:47.860of my favorite expressions and that I have found has been critical as a writer is the expression
00:22:55.400fortune favors the bold and so um I wrote back to the publisher and I just was honest with them and
00:23:02.560I was like, you know, I really respect you and I'd love to work with you, but I'm not going to review this book because I don't think it's inclusive and comprehensive enough.
00:23:15.580But if you ever need someone to write a book about sex and magic, then I'm your girl.
00:23:24.340And that didn't end up happening with that publisher.
00:23:27.080That became my third book, Sex Witch, which is published by Wiser.
00:23:31.100but I guess I I guess I it stood out to the to that publisher because they came to me with
00:23:41.520what's known as an IP project um intellectual property book which was my first book finding
00:23:47.820your higher self an IP project basically means that you know instead of um like say what's
00:23:56.700happened with one of my later books, you know, which is what you think of, which is an idea that
00:24:00.660I come up with and then pitch. And then me and my agent try to sell it. Um, this is them coming to
00:24:07.160me saying, Hey, we need a book about cannabis. Can you do it? And I was like, yeah, I can do it.
00:24:12.260And, um, so those are my first two books, my finding your higher self. And then the follow-up
00:24:18.500to that, um, a book about CBD and I'm not even a huge CBD girl. Like I I'm just gonna be honest
00:24:24.860with you like I did that because I wanted to make a connection and I needed the money and like
00:24:29.180I'm not anti-CBD um but it was you know I was building my reputation I was building
00:24:36.500my contacts and then you know now my fifth book or excuse me I don't I don't mean to sound like
00:24:44.000an asshole but my sixth book which doesn't come out until summer of 2024 is a narrative non-fiction
00:24:51.220about witchcraft and reproductive rights that there is it's it's not a coffee table book there0.99
00:24:57.380is there's no spells in it like there have been with my other books it is um exactly what I want
00:25:04.960to write it is all my own idea and I finally to be honest got a decent advance for it but
00:25:11.320it took me six books to reach to reach that point and um that that so that has been my experience
00:25:19.420to becoming an author it's um it's been wonderful and um fulfilling but it it has not been easy
00:25:29.320but you know what is you you mentioned your your podcasting bestie and you you dedicated
00:25:37.640weed witch to sarah lyons who has been on the missing witches podcast so i hope you'll give
00:25:42.480sarah our love sarah yeah she i mean she's the reason i have the book weed witch that they that
00:25:50.540is a publisher um who i who is also doing my reproductive rights book but they wanted a book
00:25:56.500on um they were like we need to write the bible on weed and witchcraft do you know anyone and
00:26:02.560sarah was like yeah my girl sophie and that is just so incredible um and that is just i love i
00:26:10.820love her so much for that and I always try to be like that myself because um you know not everyone
00:26:18.880is like that I'm not going to name names but other people who write about weed and witchcraft have um
00:26:24.880sent some pretty nasty things for me for like trying to exist in this space and I don't think
00:26:35.040that kind of attitude is in line with the values of weed or witchcraft I think it's um
00:26:41.940a space for anyone who wants to come and I don't believe in the scarcity mindset
00:26:50.220and I really believe in helping one another out especially in such a difficult industry so
00:26:55.760yeah Sarah Lyons is an amazing friend even if she hadn't suggested me for this book0.99
00:27:01.800but like um that she did just really shows what an h plus person she is yeah um i think that like0.83
00:27:11.480witchcraft and weed like you say it's sort of this shared value system and for me it's it's
00:27:16.100collaborative it's not competitive and both both sides the weed part you know it's it's it's a
00:27:24.220shareable drug it's not like you even mentioned in the book like cocaine and being like locked
00:27:29.260in a bathroom and hoarding your tiny bag versus oh yeah that that was me in college
00:27:34.780i i i gave up cocaine along with um the alcohol um now i only use psychedelics i just i use
00:27:46.400cannabis i use i do ketamine therapy for depression and sometimes i'll take some
00:27:53.720psilocybin but I kind of stick with those because I know from experience that um some of the other
00:28:02.280stuff it just it just I'm just too sensitive for for anything that's going to give me a big crash
00:28:07.980but you know again that's that's me that's my body that's my brain I am not judgmental about
00:28:14.220other people's substance use oh and for sure you know I I'm a pothead I'm not ashamed of it but
00:28:21.200i'm not proud of it i'm just sort of a facts or facts kind of situation with me but for me edibles
00:28:27.920make me edgy they don't really feel good they make me feel like more so so i don't use them but
00:28:34.240many people prefer edibles so again i'm not yeah no they're my go-to that's it's it's hard everyone
00:28:41.180always asking questions like what's the best need for this what and i'm like i i can't i wish i can't
00:28:47.260tell you that yeah I can't tell you that um edibles actually work the best for me but you're
00:28:54.840far from the first person to to tell me that so you know all I can say is like experiment but start
00:29:02.020low and go slow and you know just be really honest with yourself and and listen to your body
00:29:07.540um I want to go back to Weed Witch the book um I was so happy to see that you had a full chapter
00:29:15.000dedicated to witchcraft and activism um your your contention that maybe i'll ask you to defend
00:29:22.080this thesis in the in the you know least violent but uh the the quote is the witch has always been
00:29:29.620the activist and how is that tied to goddess mary jane you know there's self-identified
00:29:37.480witches and um you know pagan throughout history but i think it's important to remember something
00:29:44.660that I'm really not to change the topic from away from cannabis but something that I'm really
00:29:50.580learning in my book that I'm in the process of writing about witch hunts and reproductive rights
00:29:55.640that the witch historically has also been whoever gets called a witch you know and um that is the
00:30:04.420older women you know who didn't marry and um oh that is like the the sex workers that is um
00:30:15.620you know the people who lost their livelihood when um you know like just it's everyone who
00:30:27.580was like ever stood up for anything that like the government or the powers to be said was this is
00:30:36.340how you live life and if you didn't live life in that way you got called a witch and I think
00:30:42.640as a result it's just really crucial to pay respect to everyone that comes before you and
00:30:52.480that when you're talking about witchcraft or we know that you're talking about subjects that
00:31:00.300you know can be really light-hearted and fun but also a lot of people have were killed for
00:31:06.340you know or whether it's um the witches that were burned at the stake um not in America but people
00:31:14.400are still killed around the world for suspected witchcraft today um you know cannabis I could
00:31:22.260talk about than the rest of the show talking about how many lives have been ruined by the war
00:31:28.700on drugs so while books like weed which i you know they're they're fun and um they're lighthearted
00:31:37.260at times and these are also pretty pretty serious subjects and i i just think people need um to know
00:31:45.360that and i think if you're gonna be involved in this this sphere and i feel you know especially
00:31:51.500as like a white woman who grew up in the Caribbean and learned a lot from cultures that resonated
00:31:59.680with me and were around me but weren't aren't necessarily like my in my blood you just
00:32:07.560like I shouldn't be here if I'm not talking about that and paying respect to that
00:32:13.380agreed thank you yeah we also push push back against the witch being um anti-science we're
00:32:22.380like science witches we love science oh I love that too like whenever I can find a way
00:32:29.300for them to overlap I just like go nuts for it um and I don't think that makes you like
00:32:37.320less of a witch at all you know more of a witch you know we need to remember that
00:32:44.640you know science is science grows every day and um just because we don't have a scientific
00:32:51.520answer to something doesn't mean that one day it won't be discovered and so when we do find
00:32:57.880examples like for instance in my book glamour witch my last one that came out that was about
00:33:03.720clamor magic i talk a lot about the color red and how throughout history and witchcraft like
00:33:10.900it's always been used in um love spells that in particular you know love spells that you want to
00:33:17.380inject passion and like fiery sex into but you know they've like there's this whole study called
00:33:23.320the red dress effect where they um you know showed men pictures of women in um like white
00:33:29.620neutral tones versus red and they rated all the women in red as um being more sexually attractive
00:33:36.080and more interested in in sex and yeah little little pieces of like that i'm like see like
00:33:43.880i told you like or we told you can you tell us about endocannabinoid
00:33:50.760yeah so um cannabinoid is a molecule like um thc or cbd or cbn um a phyto cannabinoid
00:34:08.440are those i just mentioned you know phyto meaning plant the ones that exist in plants
00:34:14.480we usually think of the cannabis plant but cannabinoids exist in a lot of other plants um
00:34:21.760they're heavily they're very prominent in hops which is used to make beer which is kind of cool
00:34:27.820but our bodies have a system called the endocannabinoid system and the prefix endo
00:34:35.920then you know is replying to inside inside our bodies which um are it it's believed to
00:34:44.880be like a regulatory system that really works with homeostasis and we still need to learn a
00:34:52.360lot more about it you know obviously due to the fact that cannabis is still a schedule one drug
00:34:57.380there's we don't have a lot we don't have enough research on that a lot's happening
00:35:02.300But we do have receptor sites created for cannabinoids to bind to and thus produce the euphoria and the psychoactive effects that come with THC or maybe the more calming and de-stressing effects that come with CBD.
00:35:25.460and you know we know about hundreds of cannabinoids already but people but scientists think that's
00:35:31.360just the tip of the iceberg and um yeah so i look forward to staying on top of that that research
00:35:39.480but it is it is easy especially as a pothead to argue that um we are built to enjoy cannabinoids
00:35:48.560we have a whole system for it and and that's pretty cool it's super cool like you you say
00:35:56.340like your your book is fun and it's so fun like that's the word I was like this book is fun but
00:36:01.400I also learned so much while I was reading it I I would give it I would give it as a gift0.57
00:36:07.980to people who are maybe thinking about weed or thinking about witchcraft um I want to hit you
00:36:14.300with some sort of like rapid fire i'm gonna quote the book and you're gonna give me like
00:36:19.540a couple sentences of expansion some of them i i just want to say out loud and that's why
00:36:25.080we're doing this segment i'm gonna start here ready the sign of scorpio much like the anus
00:36:33.800is both feared and misunderstood yeah well i'm a scorpio um people think that scorpios0.88
00:36:43.880are jealous manipulative um like sex freaks known for their intensity and um that's true1.00
00:36:56.740but we also you know just like need a little love and um let's see anal sex um anal penetration1.00
00:37:08.380whether you're using your fingers someone else's finger is a butt plug a bio penis a um silicone1.00
00:37:16.060dick a dildo um is amazing it's filled with all these pleasurable nerve linings much like our1.00
00:37:25.180body has the endocannabinoid system it's easy it's hard not to like read about these nerve endings0.98
00:37:30.740and um you know be like you like christian like sodomy we're supposed to have sodomy actually or
00:37:38.160else why would these nerve endings be there but like it requires you know a little love and1.00
00:37:43.000understanding it is not self-lubricating um like the vagina which means you need to use lube um0.87
00:37:50.180you can hurt yourself if you don't start low and go slow just like with cannabis you know if you're0.99
00:37:57.040interested in anal sex like definitely start with um fingers or like um anal beads or a small butt1.00
00:38:04.260plug before you you know go on to bigger objects like uh dick or a dildo and did i answer with that1.00
00:38:13.680enough yeah that that's great we'll end on we'll end on dick or dildo and also scorpio is the sign1.00
00:38:21.940that rules um the genitals and um the which also scorpio is like the genitals and like shitting1.00
00:38:30.420and pissing like that whole area of the body0.99
00:39:00.420Yeah. No kink shaming. I'm sorry. I'm failing to come up with something witty on that one. I think that what's I think it's just so it's just so like easy and lame to be mean to someone about their consensual sexual desires.
00:39:23.380It's like, just like such low hanging fruit. And I think it's really cool to make anyone feel bad
00:39:34.820about what they're into and what turns them on, you know, as long as it's between two consenting
00:39:41.620adults, there's nothing wrong with it. But traditionally, you know, now I made the joke
00:39:48.120about vanilla being like the new um thing that you'll make that people make fun of you for but
00:39:55.060you know it's just up until recently like you know me being like a 35 year old unmarried woman who
00:40:02.800doesn't want kids you know people would feel like bad for me like I would be shunned for that and
00:40:09.260and when in reality it's um you know it's it's I you know it's it's not like I haven't been0.80
00:40:16.060proposed to not to sound like a dick but like um you know I like this this is I'm living the life0.97
00:40:22.980I want to live and um that was that's that again talking about the other book the reproductive0.99
00:40:31.680rights book that I am like so lucky to be born now because for so long um sex was just okay0.60
00:40:39.480man and woman you're cis you're straight no matter what your body or brain is telling you0.64
00:40:45.380and it's going to happen when you're married ideally after marriage ideally purely for the0.82
00:40:51.880sake of procreating kids and if you have thoughts or feelings about anything else like unless you
00:40:57.960want to experience like some severe like social isolation or you know depending what you're into
00:41:03.740and what time it is even in like imprisonment or death in some places just shovel those desires
00:41:13.160way down into a box and like see what neuroses develop as a result
00:41:17.800last one social media is an illusion spell yeah it is i god i recently hired a social
00:41:30.220media manager and it's been so good for my mental health um so i mean don't get me wrong
00:41:36.760social media has you know allowed me to talk to fans and make fans through social media is how I
00:41:43.840found my agent um through social media is why things like cannabis and um let's see witchcraft
00:41:53.000have become destigmatized it's also you know allowed people historically um and still not
00:41:59.840represented by like the government to have a voice and have a power so I don't think
00:42:04.320you know it's like anything there is good parts and bad parts about it but also um you know
00:42:11.500everything's filtered I I know that like god it makes me cringe that like celebrities seem to be
00:42:16.920into like posting selfies of themselves crying to like show that they're like human but you know by
00:42:22.780and large we all only post you know our accomplishments and um you know our happy
00:42:28.520photos and it's um it's just so so so easy to compare yourself to someone you know or to
00:42:39.400you know start stalking you know say you start so I do this all the time like you start stalking
00:42:45.080your partner and all of a sudden find yourself getting like butt hurt by a picture of something
00:42:49.820they did with someone like a decade ago that doesn't mean anything but because you can look
00:42:56.720at it and bring it into the present moment you can still be hurt by it um sometimes I'm jealous
00:43:03.320of like generations who might have like no idea what their partner's ex even looked like you know
00:43:09.140today if like we want to you know inflict some emotional self harm we can go pull up a picture
00:43:14.460of our partner like making out and looking happy with their ex from a decade ago and um and then
00:43:20.760and then you know be all like pissy when they get home from work and that's not fair to them and
00:43:25.080that's not fair to us and and so it's um what was the exact quote the glamour it's a glamour spell
00:43:34.920an illusion spell well it is I mean even for me it is like I like I said I hired a social media
00:43:43.180manager and you know it's not like I text her I'm like hey my insomnia's back I haven't really
00:43:48.340slept in three days been like kind of cunty to my partner lately um you know like i found a few0.50
00:43:56.300more gray hairs this morning like it's you know i don't tell her to like post that i'm like hey0.81
00:44:01.040here's this like edited great picture of me and here's um a book i wrote you know may you know
00:44:07.220make me look good make me look successful because um at least for like writers the fact is that um
00:44:14.400social media has become a currency and followers have become a currency so it's it's not something
00:44:21.360everyone has like the luxury of completely opting out of but you you just if it's not real and um
00:44:28.420or not always or what it's not it's it's a very limited filtered presentation and um it's important
00:44:37.200to remember that and and try to limit your your your stalking especially for scorpios where
00:44:44.300we're prone we're prone to that my sister's a scorpio so i shudder a little bit0.72
00:44:53.180if you um had the opportunity to create your own strain what would it be called0.88
