00:00:00.000 Okay, so how do you even want to start this?
00:00:02.600 This episode was brought to you by...
00:00:04.540 Oh, my God.
00:00:07.080 Max Martin. 1.00
00:00:08.100 This podcast brought to you by Travis Kelsey's apparently huge penis. 0.99
00:00:12.700 I feel more of a need to do a trigger warning for this episode than I do for Gaza. 0.97
00:00:16.700 But I actually do want to say I encounter this on TikTok all the time. 0.62
00:00:21.440 And it really does frustrate me as someone who got like a functionally useless degree in fine arts
00:00:26.020 and wants to occasionally talk about art criticism.
00:00:27.920 I think sometimes people mistake talking about something as hating it.
00:00:33.460 And I would encourage anyone who's listening to this,
00:00:35.880 like if you just love an album and you just want to love it, go love it.
00:00:40.200 But I think choosing to opt into conversations that are critical of art
00:00:44.300 is something that I think is like a useful skill to build
00:00:47.480 and one that I've had to build too.
00:00:48.900 Like there are things that I love that other people don't like
00:00:51.620 and I have learned to just be like, I can also just enjoy it.
00:00:54.100 I don't always have to engage in criticism.
00:00:56.140 So I want to free people.
00:00:57.980 Me with Tortured Poets Department, when you posted a 30-minute voice, I was like, what do I want from Taylor Swift?
00:01:03.800 And I was like, la-la-la-la. 1.00
00:01:06.080 I hope it's shitty in the black dog. 0.99
00:01:10.500 Yeah, that's actually a good context. 0.98
00:01:12.180 I was thinking about this, Katie, that, like, there are certain topics that we get a fair amount of comments on.
00:01:17.240 Number one is whenever I talk about childbirth, I get a ton of DMs, which is funny.
00:01:20.660 And then number two is Taylor Swift.
00:01:21.680 My singing voice, my lovely singing voice.
00:01:24.380 you know how to fall i know
00:01:27.740 it's funny that we're doing all all of these things in one week in one episode we get a lot
00:01:34.980 of comments about taylor swift and some people have asked why we haven't talked about her more
00:01:39.280 and i think it's funny that like as soon as we had the opportunity we are like this is our second
00:01:43.680 episode about her like we didn't even have a podcast the last time she had an album come out
00:01:47.900 at first i thought like well maybe we actually don't i'm like well we just haven't had an
00:01:51.580 opportunity. Like, it just hasn't come up. Yeah, or I think either, okay, when Tortured Poets
00:01:57.180 Department came out, yes, we did not have a podcast yet, but we were friends. We had met
00:02:00.960 like a week before. Yeah, you had much bigger feelings about that album than I did. Yeah, I did.
00:02:06.700 And I think that I want to couch what I'm going to say today. I hate that I feel like I even have
00:02:11.880 to do this, but I posted- It's like the I Condemn Hamas for Taylor Swift. Literally, it is the I
00:02:16.660 Condemn Hamas. I'm like, I spent thousands of dollars to go to the Ares Tour in Europe, everyone.
00:02:20.260 OK, I'm a fan. And so everything that I'm going to say is coming from a place of being a fan.
00:02:25.080 But I posted some critical thoughts on the album over the weekend, and it's pretty shocking how quickly.
