00:00:24.060 welcome once again to the missing witches coven where we speak to beautiful witches that we found
00:00:32.920 today we are honored to have i think that this is quite a distinction the four timers club i think
00:00:42.840 it's you i'm talking to granddaughter crow right now i'm terrible i love it remembering that you
00:00:50.920 are all out there sometimes so granddaughter crow is here holding the distinction of the
00:00:55.820 four-timers club i think you white feather and phoenix inanna are the only members of a very
00:01:01.740 small club so thank you so much for coming and spending time with us granddaughter crow
00:01:07.660 you listeners might also know her as dr joy gray or as the gdc as i prefer
00:01:14.840 absolutely absolutely she's got a new book out she's got so many projects that we're going to
00:01:22.960 talk about but first gdc i want to invite you to open the circle and this space between our ears
00:01:29.500 absolutely absolutely so awesome yeah they call me granddaughter crow um i am honored to be in
00:01:41.240 this sacred space in the sacred time with each of you just want to cast a circle around this space
00:01:47.840 around this time declaring this space a sacred space and this time is a very sacred time I'm
00:01:56.040 going to remove my own personal ego out of the way so I can be a clear conduit for each of you
00:02:02.500 to be able to take a jewel away or maybe a bunch of jewels away that we may come together
00:02:09.020 authentically as individuals, but collectively and united in spiritual sacred space.
00:02:19.280 Thank you so much, granddaughter Crow. Like I said, it's always amazing to be in circle with you.
00:02:25.660 I want to dive right into your newest, maybe not newest, because it does take a while between
00:02:32.360 when you finish writing a book and when people get to get their hands on it. So
00:02:36.360 one of your more recent projects the forward opens like this i love this and this it was such
00:02:45.000 a great way to start a book the forward opens with this as a youth granddaughter crow tells us
00:02:53.600 that she was taught not to question thank god she didn't listen can you talk about your new book
00:03:03.740 and how absolutely that is the perfect intro for this book oh absolutely so the new book it was
00:03:14.180 released on June 8th so it should be available to everyone at this time if you want to find it
00:03:21.620 easily you can always go to granddaughter crow.com and I have a whole page on all my books and the
00:03:27.700 links to like barnes and noble or amazon or you know wherever you get your book but this one is
00:03:33.960 called belief being and beyond and then the subtitle is your journey to questioning ideas
00:03:41.960 deconstructing concepts and healing from harmful belief systems this is a book that has been
00:03:51.960 it's really actually you know my first book i wrote the journey of the soul the path of a
00:03:57.600 medicine person. And in that one, I talk about how we earn medicine, the wisdom that we carry,
00:04:04.320 and we earn this wisdom through life's initiations, the hard times we gain and grow,
00:04:10.240 you know, with that. And a little bit more shamanistic. The second book that I wrote was
00:04:16.220 Wisdom of the Natural World, Spiritual and Practical Teachings from Plants, Animals,
00:04:21.460 and mother earth that's a really wonderful book and to toot my own horn um at this point when as
00:04:29.180 we're recording i am up for uh an award for that book and i'm going to an award dinner on june 11th
00:04:39.580 so by the time this broadcasts i'll let missing witches know what award i won and yeah it's it's
00:04:50.200 amazing I um I know I was entered into the contest and then all of a sudden my publicist says you
00:04:58.600 know well what do you want for the award dinner fish or chicken it's normal suspects and I'm just
00:05:02.880 like well what award dinner and I quickly googled and I was like oh my god I'm a finalist and I'm
00:05:10.060 just like oh so that one is a really good one that one's under shamanism and paganism it's something
00:05:17.020 that I also will be hosting classes around. And each week we go through a different chapter of
00:05:25.180 that book. One week, it's about connecting with animals. The next week, it's connecting with
00:05:30.000 plants. The next week, it's about connecting with, you know, the landscapes. And it's just a really
00:05:35.540 beautiful workbook, actually, that helps you to reconnect or connect even in a deeper way. I know
00:05:43.200 a lot of witches who are deeply connected with mother earth but still got a different spin out
00:05:49.900 of this book just because the earth will continue to unfold itself to you you know the more and more
00:05:56.860 you pay attention this dialogue with mother nature and mother earth is just like ongoing
00:06:02.220 it's absolutely beautiful but to get back to the point that one was kind of like what I do and how
00:06:07.640 I see the world and how I practice. This book, Belief, Being, and Beyond, is my life. This one
00:06:14.440 made me dig deep. I usually don't share anecdotal stories about my personal life unless it is
00:06:24.880 helpful for a person to understand that I get it, I understand. I've been through, you know,
00:06:30.660 the shiza too and um you know came out on the other side and and you know shiza washes off 1.00
00:06:38.000 you know but this one is it's really like my my editor was like we want more stories we want more
00:06:45.000 stories we want more stories so when you read this book um i really wrote it as though for the reader
00:06:52.140 and so when you're sitting in your little book nook or on your comfy couch with your comfy blanket
00:06:58.660 it in your comfy tea, know that I wrote it for you and for that dialogue and let it speak to you
00:07:06.000 the way that it speaks to you. I don't know if you have any specific questions and where you want to
00:07:12.420 go, Amy, with this, but that kind of is the overview. And this one is another workbook.
00:07:18.720 When you buy it, I highly recommend you buy a journal with it as well, because at the end of
00:07:24.440 each chapter. I have journal prompts so that you can do your deep dig into your authenticity.
00:07:31.680 And this book really is about, you know, asking questions, approaching life with curiosity,
00:07:38.120 because you can have all the answers right there in front of you. But if you do not pose a question
00:07:44.820 or if somewhere along the line, someone or something or some concept shut you down from
00:07:52.320 asking a question maybe even being a witch or being a female or being um they them or being a
00:08:01.480 you know a male or being a person of color and blah blah blah the list goes on anything that's
00:08:07.280 in the category quote unquote the other um we have all been there even if it's like you were too smart 0.98
00:08:14.240 you were too silly you were too much anything all of that if something shut you down and it
00:08:21.680 limited you and your curiosity this book is for you this book is written for you to empower you 0.98
00:08:28.740 encourage you inspire you to begin to open up and start posing questions to the world to yourself
00:08:36.360 to the divine so that you can find your authenticity yes i love that you included more of your own
00:08:46.280 personal storytelling it happens in wisdom of natural earth you talk about you know anecdotes
00:08:52.820 from your own life in your own garden and so on but I know you're also an academic
00:08:57.940 yes and so I think that that's like the sweet spot that we need to get to you know a lot of
00:09:03.980 the academy is like more quantitative than qualitative shall we say and these are terms
00:09:11.120 that you also use in the latest book um and I think we need to get to that place again of like
00:09:17.360 an integration where we can write academically and from a place of research and peer review
00:09:23.280 but also include our own stories because they're they're valid and they become history when we
00:09:30.660 write them down yes they become someone else's research right yeah go on come on yes I absolutely
00:09:37.040 agree so um you know my doctorate is in organizational development and leadership
00:09:42.880 and um in in that you you learn to write like henceforth according to you know in the words
00:09:52.300 of and and you write very academically and um throughout me writing these books I've learned
00:09:59.360 my own personal voice with it which is more almost conversational or storytelling
00:10:05.480 And so when you do get into this book, you will be like, whoa, this is a huge interweaving of a bunch of concepts. But at the end of the day, it's very simple, yet very complex. And so it's easy to read because it's not dry, but it does come with a lot of information.
00:10:29.840 For example, I was born in Gallup, New Mexico on the Navajo reservation in the 70s, actually 1970.
00:10:41.100 So I'm a Gen X. My father is full blood Navajo. English is his second language.
00:10:46.420 He is 90 years old, and if you do the math, that lands us at the time in history where he was one of those children that was taken from his hogan and put into a boarding school, a residential school in New Mexico, United States, and his hair was cut, he was denied his language, etc.
00:11:08.720 And he was taught that the Christian belief system and thought process was the superior and the only. He was taught that the white skin adult was superior and dominant to his darkness. And he carried those at a very young age. We're looking at eight or nine years old. 0.69
00:11:26.960 He carried those lessons and went to seminary school. And because he wanted to bring back this, this beauty that he felt that he found of the, the, the white body and the Christian thinking, and, and this is superior, I need to bring this to my people. 0.78
00:11:46.240 And so that's where he met my mother, a white body, full blood, Dutch lady, um, English
00:11:53.140 and thinking is her first language.
00:11:56.320 And, uh, they had several of us children and they went back to the reservation, the Navajo
00:12:01.240 reservation, which is on the four corners.
00:12:03.180 I'm the youngest child.
00:12:05.060 And they saw within me the spirit of moving a spiritual leadership that runs through my,
00:12:10.860 my father's bloodline.
00:12:12.120 and uh so they raised me to be a um a spirit filled if that makes sense to anybody a spirit
00:12:20.680 filled christian individual which means yes the nine gifts of the spirit speaking in tongues
00:12:26.720 laying hands on gifts or words of knowledge prophecy all of these things and but it was
00:12:33.780 taught to me under the christianized you know belief system and i was told do not question
00:12:41.440 authority. Do not question the Bible. Do not question God, because that's just the devil's
00:12:50.700 coming into your soul. And I know that sounds dramatic, but when I started questioning,
00:12:57.860 they literally had prayer meetings to get the devil out of my soul. That is a very harsh,
00:13:05.800 deep reality. To this day, they don't know that I'm an author. They don't follow Granddaughter
00:13:12.960 Crow. And I don't blame them because the foundation that they built their marriage on,
00:13:22.080 my father's life on, is Christian. And if you were to question that and shake that foundation,
00:13:30.720 what then would there be it's very difficult it's a comfortable place to be in a closed mind
00:13:36.400 but you don't really grow there very well you know so those are some of the things and so then I went
00:13:42.460 they they did kick me out of the house disown me and that's where this book started coming alive
00:13:49.660 because I was like a parent's belief system can be deeper than their connection with their own
00:13:57.120 child who was their golden child. And then I think back to Abraham and Isaac and how he almost
00:14:04.340 sacrificed his son unless God told him not to. And then I think about how many wars happened
00:14:10.140 because of people's belief systems and how many people in different communities are blocked out
00:14:16.420 even from their parents because their parents do not see their authenticity. So I wrote this book
00:14:23.460 because I'm showing you my authenticity and I want you to rise up and be yours.
00:14:29.660 Listeners, you can't see my full body nodding. My head is going up and down at an arc of about
00:14:36.780 three feet. Whiplash. I'm going to get whiplash from nodding today for sure. Because I mean,
00:14:44.700 it's tempting to ask, you know, why you would write a book investigating not just beliefs,
00:14:50.880 but like the notion of believing in addition to belief systems but I think I mean you pretty much
00:14:57.500 answered that question right there yes and and moreover to that when I talk about belief
00:15:04.740 I'm not talking necessarily only about religious belief I'm talking about if you believe that you
00:15:14.760 will have good teeth if you brush them twice a day you will religiously brush your teeth so it's
00:15:21.860 about all of your belief systems and so I'd like to bounce off of that and tell you where the title
00:15:29.280 came from so I because of the the difficulties that I had in my childhood I was about 15 when
00:15:37.660 I started questioning and they thought it was the secular world in the public school that I was in
00:15:42.660 that caused me to do that. So quickly they grabbed me up and put me back into a Christian school that
00:15:47.900 I was, I went from kindergarten through sixth grade or fifth grade in Christian school. And I
00:15:52.520 found myself back there and I'm just like, Oh my God, this is just so weird. And so anyway,
00:15:59.200 I didn't do well in high school. Let's just say I was distracted, but I got the notion that like I
00:16:06.380 was you know I had to raise an F to a D in history in order to graduate and I didn't know until I
00:16:13.900 actually got my diploma that I did it you know it was like one of those hard times so when I was
00:16:19.760 30 years old you know I I thought to myself I want to go to college it was just like it never really
00:16:29.700 I was like I want to go to college so I enrolled in adult learning and the first night first class
00:16:37.380 gen 101 teacher decides to do an icebreaker says okay everybody if you were to write a book what
00:16:46.500 would the title be so that we could get to know each other better so we all take 10-15 minutes
00:16:52.340 think about the title and we write it down and then they started going around the room and
00:16:57.540 like one guy says, um, how to ski. And so now we all know that he knows how to ski. And if we want
00:17:05.860 to know, talk about skiing with him, he'll share. And the next lady said, you know, how to bake the 0.77
00:17:11.140 best oatmeal cookies. And it's like, okay, maybe we could get her to bring us cookies. But as they 0.99
00:17:16.020 were going around, I was like, oh, Shiza, I, this, I did it wrong. I went too deep again. I didn't do
00:17:23.740 the assignment correctly I can change my answer I can think of a quick answer like how to walk a
00:17:29.920 dog or how to roller skate or something but I just decided in that moment to stick with my original
00:17:35.840 thing and the teacher got to me and said well what what would your book be called and I said
00:17:41.780 belief being and beyond and she said everybody it was awkwardly quiet in that classroom
00:17:48.640 and they're like what and I said the way that one believes constitutes their behavior their
00:17:56.840 beingness in the world but there is something beyond that and if we all recognize that there
00:18:02.420 is always more then maybe we can you know be more community and so this book and now I'm in my early
00:18:10.360 50s this book has been within me um thank I'm thankful to my publicist Llewellyn Worldwide
00:18:16.820 for keeping the original title because it is true to me they added that subtitle about healing from
00:18:23.640 harmful belief systems and when i saw that i was like oh i wrote a book about what oh that sounds
00:18:28.580 interesting yeah i actually have a highlight of that passage that you're talking about
00:18:36.740 um the way it appears in the book is whatever a person believes even if it is the simplest belief
00:18:46.040 constitutes how they behave in the world I would love for you to unpack that even more because I
00:18:54.900 think it's something that we don't either think about or talk about amidst identity politics and
00:19:01.640 everything that's happening in the world how much what we believe constitutes our reality and as you
00:19:07.820 point out our behavior can you dig into that a little bit more for us sure sure sure so we don't
00:19:18.680 look at our belief systems but I have been looking at belief systems since I was a little girl
00:19:24.180 and got shunned because I didn't adopt their belief system and I questioned it and so I look
00:19:31.560 at people's belief systems and I realized that it constitutes completely everything in their whole
00:19:39.780 entire world. If you believe that you are ugly, you are going to live an ugly life. If you believe 0.98
00:19:46.300 that you were smart, you're going to live an intelligent life. If you believe that you're
00:19:50.820 worthy, you're going to take what's yours and it's right in front of you. Nobody else is going to
00:19:57.260 take it it's yours you're worthy claim it but if somewhere along the line a system or a concept
00:20:06.860 through your lived experience comes in and says you're not worthy it's everybody else's turn but
00:20:12.820 yours you need to be a good person and this is how you do it it starts limiting and then we find
00:20:20.480 ourself, you know, going to psychologists and, and, and it's crazy, but it's like the easiest
00:20:27.020 belief system. If I believe that waking up at 6am and drinking a cup of coffee is going to set my
00:20:34.020 day straight by God, I'm going to wake up at 6am and drink a cup of coffee. Now the same, if I
00:20:39.820 think that, Oh, well, if I wait until eight, then my day is going to be better than I'm going to
00:20:43.900 wait till eight. But it's about the belief that we have around the phenomenon. So what I mean by
00:20:50.320 that is we live in a phenomenon each situation is a phenomenological exchange whether it's you
00:21:00.800 driving down the street saying a prayer in the forest cooking a blessed meal it's a phenomenon
00:21:07.680 that you are experiencing now our brains put meaning attached to those phenomenons and those
00:21:14.680 meanings that we attach are based on our basic belief system. Like if I was told time and time
00:21:20.780 again that I make a killer lasagna, when I'm making lasagna, I'm like, yeah, this is going
00:21:25.820 to be really good. And I'm going to make it with that love and that excitement. And it by that
00:21:31.500 alone, because of the way that I'm thinking about it will become a killer lasagna metaphorically,
00:21:38.160 not like I'm not I don't poison my food not intentionally but yeah it is it's and and to
00:21:47.260 look at our belief systems and and recognize just recognize that am I doing this behavior because of
00:21:54.500 something I believe and what is it that I believe that's causing me to do this behavior and I'm not
00:21:59.460 judging anything I'm not saying one way's right or one way's wrong I'm just saying there's reason
00:22:04.540 And if you write your own story in your own life, in your own internal narrative, that's when you begin to shed the beliefs that other people forced upon you, and you get to examine and question for yourself, and that's when your authenticity rises.
00:22:25.320 you talked about when your belief system changed or when what you believed changed um that you got
00:22:36.800 shunned that was your word shunned um we have a lot of coven mates listeners who still exist in
00:22:45.980 in what we sort of cutely call the broom closet yes so you know you said your family doesn't know
00:22:52.340 this other part of your life I think a lot of our listeners can relate to that
00:22:56.140 yeah how do you navigate that and what advice do you have for our coven mates who are listening
00:23:04.420 who are also trying to navigate that wanting to yeah you know what I'm asking yeah um I am not
00:23:13.840 ever going to force anybody out of any kind of a closet you know if you're having fun and you can
00:23:18.300 meditate in that closet good for you i would say that this is what i would say
00:23:25.000 because it was in so many different directions we exist within a dynamic world and sometimes we need
00:23:38.040 to make um concessions in order to keep the balance of that that dynamic world whether
00:23:46.000 it's because you're raising children or because you can't afford to live on your own or because
00:23:51.420 you know that you will be shunned like granddaughter crow has been shunned and that's not something
00:23:57.500 that is in your bloodline to do at this point or whatever so i get it i get it i get it but this
00:24:03.980 is what i would say if you draw a circle around yourself and name that circle my capacity and
00:24:11.520 understand that your capacity has to do with two different things one the internal world you and
00:24:18.340 two the environmental world the external world and how you make agreements with each one of those
00:24:24.160 when you go up to the threshold of your circle of your capacity and you start challenging it
00:24:32.540 there are what I call watchers at the threshold and they will push you back and they will tell
00:24:39.900 you things like, who do you think that you are? You shouldn't be growing past this capacity.
00:24:45.440 You're not allowed. Where are you going to be otherwise? And if you fight through those and
00:24:50.840 you find yourself outside of that threshold for the first moment, like you feel like you're in
00:24:58.340 no man's land and you feel a little lost. But then when you start creating something in that
00:25:05.720 no man's land, you then stretch your capacity. I will not ask you to stretch your capacity
00:25:12.240 and upset your world. But I will say, if you are making these concessions, then recognize why. Is
00:25:21.200 it for your children? Is it for peace? Is it for something that's bigger inside of you? And if so,
00:25:27.440 keep that. But if you're doing it, and you realize, well, I'm doing this because
00:25:32.540 uh they told me to and and it's like nothing it's like oh then then maybe you you can test
00:25:39.460 your capacity and trust me this book tested my capacity because putting out my story in all of
00:25:48.060 its complexity and and and and as an empath some of the stuff I didn't want to write because I
00:25:56.680 didn't want to trigger anybody you know me being on my deathbed and and and the miscarriages and
00:26:03.400 and all of that you know it's it's like I didn't want to trigger anybody but it's like it it needed
00:26:09.780 to come out for whatever reason and so I got pushed past my capacity now knowing that I could
00:26:17.500 be walking down the street and somebody's like oh yeah do you know that she had ACL surgery and was
00:26:23.400 septic and was on her deathbed and i'll be like how do you know that about me you know my own
00:26:28.300 parents don't even know that about me you know that kind of a thing so i would say be where you
00:26:32.820 are but understand why you're making those choices and make sure that that is in alignment with your
00:26:38.220 authenticity can you talk a little bit about um the various bodies sure you cover the types of
00:26:49.400 bodies I like the reframing of this notion of body like obviously we have our physical bodies
00:26:56.460 our organs our our hands our heads but also like a excuse me like a body of water like how to use
00:27:04.840 the term a body of water oh wow that there there are integrations and separations and ways of
00:27:14.340 looking at things. Can you talk about the bodies that you cover? Sure, sure, sure. So I'll start
00:27:21.820 basic and say that there is a school of thought that says that we have four bodies of existence,
00:27:30.260 that we have the physical body, the emotional body, the mental body, and the spiritual body.
00:27:37.540 and this notion of calling them bodies instead of just saying I am a spirit living in this
00:27:44.960 lived experience as a human being and I have a mind and I have emotions that's a different
00:27:52.100 concept it's kind of similar but it's a little bit different when you look at them as bodies
00:27:56.660 of existence then what you're looking at is every body every one of your bodies and everybody
00:28:03.640 needs to rest we need to grow we need to have healing we need to have exercise my physical
00:28:11.920 body needs that my emotional body needs exercise and food and you know rest my mental body needs
00:28:21.060 exercise and food and rest my spiritual body needs exercise food and rest and so there it is
00:28:31.780 So when we're looking at all of these, sometimes your bodies will argue with each other inside of
00:28:37.440 you. And that's when we find conflict. And that's when we feel like we're lost. My brain will say,
00:28:43.060 you have to do this. And you have to go to work in this place in order to make X number of dollars
00:28:47.860 in order to support the life that you want to live. And then my heart's like, but I hate that
00:28:52.900 job because there's a mean person there. I don't want to go. And then you force your body to go.
00:28:58.780 you know there's all of that kind of stuff but also you know when we recognize these things
00:29:04.620 and I say give each of your bodies a voice and it's okay if they argue that's the human experience
00:29:11.700 you know I don't think my cat's bodies argue with each other she says I'm tired I'm gonna lay down 0.87
00:29:17.420 I don't give a shit what you think you know so she just her spirit goes to sleep her emotions 0.89
00:29:21.320 go to sleep her mind is like whatever get away you know but we as the humans tend to have this 0.99
00:29:27.660 complexity. When you brought up the body of the ocean, I kind of also went into the place of
00:29:34.380 Mother Earth is a macrocosm. We are a microcosm of Mother Earth herself,
00:29:43.580 meaning that 65 to 70 approximately percent of the human body is water. Oh gosh, 65 to 70 percent
00:29:52.840 of mother earth is water you know mother earth has um she has uh grass and and and wheat growing 0.99
00:30:04.320 and we have these little hair follicles and you know there's a lot of beauty she has uh we have 0.91
00:30:11.880 lungs and she has trees both needing oxygen or producing oxygen for our lungs and we produce
00:30:20.100 carbon dioxide for her lungs I mean there's just this connection you know there's a connection so
00:30:26.640 that's what I would say for bodies and how I mean you at our Beltane event you did a very good job
00:30:38.060 of this but for our listeners who maybe missed it how can we use our bodies and our spirits and our
00:30:43.960 emotions and our minds to connect or to remember that connection to our natural world sure sure
00:30:51.720 so there are many many ways i'll just i am going to think of one um and i'm going to invite each
00:30:58.560 listener unless you're driving if you're in a safe place where you can actually put your hands
00:31:03.280 together the tips of your fingers together i'm going to invite you to do so and if you are driving
00:31:08.560 or cooking food or whatever, remember to do this later.
00:31:12.680 It takes less than 30 seconds.
00:31:15.240 Put the tips of your fingers together.
00:31:17.740 Inhale through your nose for a few counts.
00:31:21.160 Hold that breath within you for a few counts
00:31:23.720 and blow it through your mouth as much as you can,
00:31:28.620 followed by another inhale through your nose.
00:31:32.140 Hold, exhale.
00:31:35.160 We'll do one more.
00:31:38.560 so now we're in a different space consciously
00:31:46.680 and then the next time you're in the natural world
00:31:51.900 you sit down under a tree or on a bench or on the grass or on a rock do that for a few moments
00:32:00.380 and then look around you and recognize that the world around you recognizes that you are there
00:32:09.000 with it too when you touch a tree it senses your touch maybe through heat maybe it has a sixth
00:32:17.420 sense or an 18th sense that we're not even aware of and it knows that you're there when you see
00:32:23.360 a hawk know that that hawk probably saw you first and the fact that it's letting you see it
00:32:30.980 is a compliment to you and the connection with you and then feel into it feel into it emotionally
00:32:38.480 how do you feel in this space and maybe even journal about that and then go into your mental
00:32:45.040 body what does this bring up within you first you kind of write there's a tree there's a hawk
00:32:51.500 I see a hummingbird. And then you kind of free form and free flow and go, oh, the hummingbird
00:32:57.800 reminded me when I was a little girl. And all of a sudden, this beauty comes up and you start
00:33:04.320 connecting. And then spiritually feel that you are in a spiritual realm. I mean, the natural world
00:33:13.200 takes us into an open space spiritually I know I live in kind of a suburb right off of a pretty
00:33:23.160 big city and so when I drive up to the mountains here in Colorado you know we're already a mile
00:33:30.960 high and when you go up and that's just here in Denver area when you go up the mountains and you
00:33:37.700 know you can actually go above the clouds when you go up there all of a sudden you're it's like
00:33:43.760 almost like this little tense circle that your spirit is in just goes it opens up and you're
00:33:49.720 like oh my goodness my spirit can feel for miles and miles and i'm feel safe and secure so feel
00:33:57.800 free at any time that you want to relax um rewire your nervous system a little bit deeper connect
00:34:06.420 with yourself or your community or the natural world, remember, put your fingertips together
00:34:11.740 and do that deep breathing. There is a very scientific reason. Basically, we are in beta
00:34:17.300 state. And when you take a few breaths like that, you go into alpha state, which is more relaxed
00:34:22.820 and it feels slower, but you're actually more aware.
00:34:27.160 yes I always have to remind myself that um rushing makes things take longer because I have to do it
00:34:38.440 twice I have to go back and fix my I have to clean up what I dropped because I was rushing so
00:34:44.120 I don't I don't remember what branch of the military it is but one of them their slogan
00:34:48.120 is like slow is smooth and smooth is fast oh nice so I kind of like to think about that in nature
00:34:54.560 too like slow is smooth and smooth is fast there are cycles happening beyond our human lifetimes
00:35:02.880 that we could never possibly imagine you know seeing them come full circle yes can you talk
00:35:11.960 a little bit about uh eagle heart foundation and eagle heart academy i know you brought it up a
00:35:18.180 little bit when we were talking about the wisdom of the natural world can you talk about this project
00:35:23.440 Yeah, it's in its beta testing. So the Eagle Heart Foundation is a nonprofit organization that really, it brings, it lifts the voice of the quote unquote other, just like I was talking about earlier, you know, even a tall, white bodied male can experience being an other at one point in their life.
00:35:51.760 And so we all experience this. And so with the Eagle Heart Foundation, we lift the voice of the collective soul and celebrate all of that and learn cross-culturally how do we communicate and how do we collect ourselves respectively and with respect.
00:36:10.580 um the eagle heart academy so we've been through a beta test where i actually roll out uh every week
00:36:19.200 one of the um academies one of the chapters of wisdom of the natural world and we live and we
00:36:26.880 grow and so i'm not sure where exactly we're going with this however i can guarantee that if it
00:36:35.080 catches on with Eagle Heart, so be it. But if it doesn't, look to GDC. I'll be doing the ACADA ME,
00:36:44.620 the ACADA ME, because, you know, and I will be rolling that out as well. So keep your eye out,
00:36:52.900 www.granddaughtercrow.com. And it really is the people who went through the beta tests.
00:36:58.900 I had them fill out um anonymously uh feedback so that I can understand how to gain and grow
00:37:06.320 without them feeling you know like oh gosh you know she's grand out of crow and I don't want
00:37:10.240 her to think I thought it was bad or sucked or something like that I need to know the truth
00:37:14.220 right and so um there was one that said I am a witch I have been a witch my whole life I felt
00:37:20.660 very very connected to the natural world but going through this this movement that you're doing
00:37:26.800 because it comes with like an initial 45 minute class and then it gives you an exercise to do
00:37:32.940 sometime during that week and then you have to write and respond about that exercise and then
00:37:37.860 the community starts building itself and and it's a beautiful beautiful movement but being able to
00:37:44.300 do those exercise and then come back and report them to a group and bounce it off grows and expands
00:37:50.360 your own I didn't realize I was the only one that did that I didn't realize I wasn't the only one
00:37:56.560 You know, it expands your community and everything.
00:38:00.280 So, and I'm thinking, I mean, it doesn't take a psychic to see that if I did that with wisdom of the natural world, what's stopping me from doing that with belief being and beyond, walking through this book with people and seeing their feedback and how it impacts them and getting their questions and their curiosity and stirring that questioning box up within you.
00:38:26.080 And then all of a sudden, like I say, all the questions could be right in front of you, but if you don't formulate, all the answers can be right in front of you, but if you don't formulate the question, you may not recognize the answer.
00:38:41.140 Yeah, and I think we exist inside the game show Jeopardy, where oftentimes the answers take the form of a question.
00:38:48.620 I agree. Very well said, very well said.
00:38:52.380 And I mean, back to belief being and beyond. I mean, this is, this is, it's question after question. And there are a lot of answers in there. But really, I think even at some point in the book, you make the statement that this is, this is one large question.
00:39:09.900 Yes. Yes, absolutely. Absolutely. Because questions lead to answers. When you get an answer, that leads to hopefully action. And when you do this action based on this answer, that leads to manifestation.
00:39:29.340 so question answer action manifestation and that is easy like working with the elements earth air
00:39:39.620 fire water it's it's like working with the the directions you know the earth well the i guess
00:39:46.260 it's like the air is the is the the the east and it brings in the question and the idea and then
00:39:53.800 you move to the south which is fire which brings in the action based upon that idea then you move
00:39:59.620 it into the west which is based on emotion in my in my thought process and then you put your
00:40:05.120 emotions around this idea and the action that you're taking and you redefine it and then all
00:40:09.400 of a sudden you go to the north which is the earth which is manifestation
00:40:13.800 so that's how we roll that's how we roll people yeah and i mean again let's let's kind of
00:40:23.560 cycle back and say like even if we just take a moment to recognize how much what we believe
00:40:32.600 whether it's our political beliefs our religious beliefs our personal beliefs our beliefs about
00:40:38.580 what other people think of us or don't think of us our imagined ideas our narratives that we create
00:40:46.420 all of those beliefs. Just take a moment to investigate, recognize, investigate, recognize,
00:40:55.600 investigate, recognize how much those belief systems are impacting your behavior, the action
00:41:01.740 part that we're looking toward. You know, because we can't live in the philosophical, you know,
00:41:08.800 as much as I might want to here in my little bubble in the woods. We can't live inside the
00:41:14.400 theoretical we need to feel things and do things and you know get beyond beyond belief
00:41:25.320 and into being you know yes um can i say a cuss word you can say all the could try to shock me
00:41:36.520 to to empower the the witches um you know i just want to say that the action and the the thought
00:41:49.500 and the action and the you know behavior and all of that the earth air fire water all of that that
00:41:54.440 we're talking about and and being aware and conscious about how that's working within you 0.99
00:42:00.060 then you're not just practicing magic my dear you're throwing that shit down 0.99
00:42:05.440 don't just practice magic throw that shit down i want it on a t-shirt when you start making 0.99
00:42:14.080 merch gdc i want it on a t-shirt and in fact you got it i'm excited when can we expect some gdc 0.99
00:42:21.240 merch so i want a t-shirt i want a silk screen of your face in your signature hat 0.99
00:42:28.320 with a slogan that says something like don't just practice magic throw that shit down 0.99
00:42:36.640 you know it's it's I always listen to the questions that I'm asked and I take them as 0.99
00:42:44.320 signals from the divine so apparently I'm going to be doing merchandise soon I can tell you that
00:42:50.920 my my book like I mentioned is up for an award I'm going to be doing a lot of not
00:42:57.360 Belief Being and Beyond, that will probably enter next year and we'll see what happens 0.98
00:43:00.840 as I throw that shit down, right? But I'm going to be doing a lot of, you know, touring around 0.97
00:43:08.920 podcast-wise and stuff. I am going to be up in Washington, D.C. to the American Library
00:43:15.200 Association, which is apparently the largest international or maybe just national library
00:43:21.540 event in the world annually. So I'm going to be there signing, you know, belief being and beyond.
00:43:27.760 So I don't know where this, this wave, I am surfing, but this wave, I don't know what beach
00:43:35.640 I'm going to be landing on. If, if my books are going to be in libraries across the United States,
00:43:40.300 why? I don't know, you know, we'll see. But all I know is that I know it's going somewhere great
00:43:47.860 beyond what I could ever anticipate oh that's a good one okay but I know I'm going someplace great
00:43:54.960 beyond what I can anticipate I know I'm going someplace great beyond what we can all anticipate
00:44:02.460 say that three times click your heels hell's yeah
00:44:07.340 yeah lolly lolly moon puts it this way um i'm i'm paraphrasing but um the only possibilities
00:44:17.160 that we're aware of are the ones that exist in our minds there is an infinite universe of
00:44:23.160 possibilities out there that we just haven't even thought to imagine yet and and this is the
00:44:29.540 universe of possibility that i expect for you granddaughter crow i know that you for that
00:44:34.380 blessing you feel compelled to create and to communicate and i know that that's not going to
00:44:41.700 stop anytime soon right before i ask you to close do any of our coven mates who are here i have a
00:44:48.480 question for granddaughter crow that you want to ask i think we could we covered everything
00:44:55.800 okay that just big smiles and blessings so before you before you close the circle for us can you
00:45:07.000 tell us the names of all your books and where our listeners can find you yes um just remember
00:45:13.640 granddaughter crow not grandmother crow i although i am actually a grandmother i have four beautiful
00:45:20.380 grandchildren. Remember granddaughter crow and www.granddaughter crow.com. That's all you have
00:45:27.060 to remember. If you want to, I have a page there of all my books. Yes. Missing witches, you are
00:45:35.620 correct. I am trying not to let my next book come out, but it's kind of trickling out. And even in
00:45:42.700 this about internal narratives and how we look at those. And so, you know, I'm not sure when that
00:45:48.500 will hit I'll probably start writing it in the fall and um so yeah you know it's it's going to
00:45:55.660 be absolutely excellent uh you can always follow me on social media all of that information is on
00:46:01.000 my website as well um also you know as I grow and and develop and and go past my thresholds and the
00:46:10.140 watchers at the gate like who the hell do I think I am and go into this no man's land and create I've
00:46:16.280 done it so many times I'm like oh great here we are in no man's land but then again I have a raven
00:46:20.540 crow totem so I'll fly into the darkness and I'll be like oh I'm gonna make this and I'm gonna make
00:46:25.320 this and I'm gonna make people smile and but feel free to reach out to me if you have a question
00:46:31.420 I think my uh my email is right on the um website and you know drjoy at granddaughter crow.com
00:46:39.600 if you have a question or comment or anything you know feel free to feel free to reach out to me
00:46:44.320 I'm here for you.
00:46:46.780 And you're definitely here for us.
00:46:48.600 Thank you again for being one of the very few members of the Four Timers Club.
00:46:53.040 We're always so excited to have you back and to be in circle with you.
00:46:57.500 Thank you so much.
00:46:58.500 Your new book is?
00:47:01.440 Belief, Being, and Beyond.
00:47:03.320 And it's your journey to questioning ideas, to deconstructing concepts, and to heal from harmful belief systems.
00:47:13.020 yes i mean yeah i know i know it's deep it's deep it's deep but it's an easy it flows i've
00:47:21.960 heard a lot of feedback like wow but i will tell you one thing before i close um if you pick up
00:47:28.840 this book and if you want to see the pattern of how this all flows so that you get the big picture
00:47:35.700 go to the appendix b where it says overall matrix and it will show you this matrix of how i'm
00:47:44.420 rolling it out and how each chapter rolls out and how i interweave basically like the chapter on
00:47:50.600 awakening morning and then i also talk about the east and i talk about the spring and i talk about
00:47:56.620 your childhood and i talk about you know the creation story within religions and major
00:48:02.260 religious things as well as the navajo nation i do that and then i i talk about the tarot cards in
00:48:08.760 there and then i and then i give all of this information even science and then i go into the
00:48:14.340 next one and i do the same pattern with enlightening and there you're looking at noon and
00:48:18.760 you're looking at your adolescence and you're looking to the summer and so there's a pattern
00:48:23.240 that you'll catch as you roll through the book but if you want to see it i mean it's just like
00:48:28.960 I remember when I was in math class, the once you found out that the answers were in the back of the
00:48:33.920 book, it made homework a lot easier. So use the back of the book, use the back of the book. So
00:48:40.220 with that, I just want to give you all a big hug from the natural world and know that you are not
00:48:50.100 alone. You are seen, your authenticity is seen, even if you feel like you're not seen by the
00:48:56.220 communities or certain communities or certain family members or work members or any of that
00:49:02.220 that tree sees you that hawk sees you and i see you so with that i want to close the sacred space
00:49:12.480 let my ego bounce back in and tell me what the hell did you just talk about and i have to go 0.97
00:49:17.660 through my ego snapback but blessings blessings blessings blessed be to all blessed fucking be 0.95
00:49:24.460 thank you so much gdc granddaughter crow dr joy gray all of your incarnations and to our 0.99
